Molly Ivins was one of a kind and one of the great American columnists.
Her passing creates a void in the kind of straight-forward, no BS, truth-telling we need in this age of lies. As Texas resident, she was one of the authorative voices on the career and dealings of the current occupant of the White House, before he ever got there.
One of my favorite of her great columns was one she wrote called "Enough the D.C. Dems" , a piece directed to the grassroots community that remains as relevant today, as it was when she wrote it almost a year ago.
If you want to hear Molly at her best, check out the great interviews she did with Terry Gross, one of the best interviewers in any media, on her program, Fresh Air. I highly recommend this particular show.
