Most of the DI's participants from the U.S., Canada, Europe and elsewhere would likely define themselves as decidedly progressive. Given the conservative takeover of most other forms of media, this site is proudly dedicated to serving as forum who share a different worldview. While the topics of conversation can be serious and engaging at times, the site can also be a place to relax and even have some fun. The chat forum is loaded with humorous emoticons and sounds that help to lighten the mood when needed. As a conduit for people to communicate, learn about each other and break down barriers of distance and information, DemocracyInteractive utilizes the internet and real-time technology to bring people together to promote a much-needed sense of community - worldwide.
